Branded DomainsA lot people wanted to know, what are the difference between branded and keyword-rich domain names. Which one should I choose? However, there are not clear answers for this question, but we can see some of the properties of branded and keyword-rich domain names. For branded domain names, you will have some benefits such as easy to remember, short and memorable, as a way to put your brand in front of your customers, maintains brand consistency and etc. A brand is representative to your business or personal identity.

You can see almost all the top 100 blogs on Technorati are branded domain names which are short and clean. For keyword-rich domain names, you could be more beneficial if you want to brand yourself as an industry expert, say “The Plumbing Expert”. Marketers will target traffic from a specific keyword/phrase by setting up a keyword-rich landing page then only redirect user to the main domain. Besides, this keyword might increase your rankings especially if the domain matches the search query.

I prefer Branded domains.
