Mark Thompson have posted great article on Stayonsearch.com, its about what have change in 2010. We have already talk about some issues that have change, but Mark says that in 2010 this things are not so important or are not important at all:
H and Meta Keywords Tag
Keyword Density
Generic Backlinks
Domain Age
Page Sculpting

What is getting more important by Mark is:
Social Media Involvement
Quality Backlinks
Page Load Time

And I agree with him. SE wants that people spread content trough Social Media sites and are giving credit trough that. More and more will be important to be active on web 2.0 sites.

Twitter went nofollow

Nofollow is introduced by Google and other Search Engines to fight a Spam. So recent Twitter move to go nofollow indicates that Twitter is going in fight against Spam. But Twitter did it wrong. According to Seoptimise Twitter turn every link on your Twitter account to nofollow. This means that even inner pages are not going to get Google juice.

Nofollow leads to poor indexing and searchability of tweets. Many big marketers are going to move from Twitter now. Many of them will move to Buzz.

There are many myths in Internet marketing world and here are some of them from social media, like Facebook, Twitter, Digg…

1.Social media is cheap or free
Yes it is for free and it don’t cost you anything, however you will spend lots of time on being active on social media sites, you will need skills and money.
2.You can make big splash really quickly
Yes you can if you are already a superstar, but if your not then overnight popularity wont happen, trust me on this one.
3.You need to be on all the big sites
Do not join social media sites which don’t have category for you, don’t spend time on them because this wont make any influence, use few of them and use them wisely.
4.If you create something great, people will find it
On Internet nothing is found accidentally, you need to spread a word to other people on some way and if your product is great then they will spread a word to others.
5.Its for kids.
Yes Facebook is maybe for kids who plays games all day, but those kids as well wok and are willing to spend cash online… Read the rest

France and Germany against IE

France and Germany are warning Microsoft about they Internet Explorer browser. Internet Explorer users are warned that on Friday there is some malicious code on Internet which was published online to implicate attacks on Google.

Microsoft have say BBC News that IE8 is most secure browser on the market. Cliff Evans, Security boss, say that malicious code infects older versions of browser, IE6.

He say: To get infected you need to use IE6 and visit compromised website. If this happens your computer will get infected by Trojan horse and will allow hackers to take control of your computer and steal important information’s.

So far this only effects IE6, but security researchers warned that this could change to other web browsers and newer versions too.

SEO changes in 2009

There was many changes in 2009, google specially made many differences in they search engine. Microsoft and Yahoo signed search deal, Bing got launched.

1. Local search got listed
- now you can optimize for local searches, like searches from specific country or specific city, like plumber in New York city.

2. Google Map Results
- google map now opens first when searching for specific place, like Pizza restaurant in New York city, on top it will be google map with the address, phone number and location of all Pizza restaurants in NY city

3. Personalizes search
- search got personal as well. Example, if you search for humor videos and often you click htportal.org then htportal.org will be on top of your searches

4. Now you can use JavaScript

5. Flash is no longer taboo

6. xhtml and HTML 5

7. Content duplication issues
Duplicate content is not welcomed by google, but sometimes you must have duplicate content, now you can use rel=”canonical” link element and not get penalized

8. Content variety
Content was king for google, but today google search trough images, videos and other media.

Search Engine Cold War

I recently run into different SEO article, it was made by John C. Dvorak. Dvorak says that there is Cold War going on. He is very angry about SEO because like he says SEO is killing Internet. Hes description of SEO is: Tricking Google, Bing or Yahoo to rank your website better than other websites.

Problem with SEO is that it ruins search experience for for users and as well requires search engine workers to fix holes. When they fix the holes, SEO starts another round and another…

There is no large companies or large consulting firm doing SEO because everything stays underground. If there is firm or companies offering good (real) SEO services, search engine folks will subscribe to them and fix holes in search engine faster and easier. That is why SEO stays underground between several people chatting and consulting between them about recent SEO tricks.

That is the reason why when you do a search about some product but you wish to see review of it, you cant. You will always get sales pages, if you wish best SEO then contact that webmasters and ask them who is doing SEO for them.
