DefconA Black Hat and Defcon conferences is one of the most interesting conferences because it is so unpredictable, any interesting story can appear at last minute. These two conferences are held one after the other each year in Las Vegas. This year’s Black Hat conference is on Wednesday and Thursday. Defcon runs Friday through Sunday.

There were some interesting discussions made on the conferences such some bugs that found in ATMs (automated teller machines) Jackpot for past few years; some security issue on DNS (Domain Name System) and there’s an entire class of authentication vulnerabilities that DNSSEC does address; GSM security where hackers found a way to decrypt GSM calls and messages; someone unleashed a sophisticated worm attacking Siemens’ Windows-based management systems and make people start looking at the real-world SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) attack; there are a lot more question that had been point out on that day.

Too bad its on other side of the world to participate in it.
