DNS SecurityEarlier in this month, a more secure global information infrastructure of the root zone in Internet’s Domain Name System has been created and reaches a milestone. The DNS root zone is operated by the Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration and it s very important to resolve the domain names to IP addresses for routing Internet traffic.

With this enhanced security system, most DNS queries have to resolve by the DNS Security Extension which could digitally sign the 13 root zone servers and the publication on July 15 of a trust anchor with cryptographic keys to enable validation of the signatures is critical to making DNSSEC work throughout the Internet. Although most servers are still  not ready for digitally signed, and most browsers are not set up to validate digital signatures yet, top level domains such as .gov and .org. is still undergoing deployment and subdomain from these TLDs can be signed automatically. Besides, the new version of Internet Protocols, that is IPv6 introduced lately also help to improve security at a basic level.

I hope they make everything secured.
