Enom in toroubleENom, the world’s second-largest domain name registrar got in trouble when HostExploit, a volunteer-run anti-malware research group reported that eNom hosting large number of malicious websites and is a preferred domain name registrar for pharmaceutical spammers. Because of this, eNom is being questioned and asked Demand Media for answer after the reports and complaints from Internet security groups. According to Kurt Pritz, senior vice president of services with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, in normal case people will be advised with information on illegal activities.

However, cases on eNom is abnormal and eNom will be ask for their response and will follow up as appropriate. Besides, HostExploit also stated that part of eNom reseller are violating ICAAN rules becuase they allow register to use fake Whois database information, which is against the ICAAN deletion policy. Scammers are abusing the domain name registration system to make it extremely difficult to locate the domain nameservers used by the bad guys, said Jart Armin, HostExploit’s founder. Back to history, there was a company shut down after the report from HostExploit about malicious activity on their network.

I dont think Enom will be shut down, they are too big and too popular.
