ScammersYou might heard about scammers in online business, or other online earning scheme, now there is a scam on domain name registration as well. In U.S., there is a Canadian company, who claimed that they are domain name registrar, they were collecting the registration fees from thousands of U.S. consumers, from small businesses and nonprofits. This company is found illegal and ordered to stop the operation by District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division and to pay $4.3 million in a default judgment the FTC.

This company was sending fake domain name invoices to small businesses and other organizations, with the letters listing the existing domain name of the targeted company’s Web site or a slight variation on the domain name, such as substituting .org for.com. the invoices instructed consumers to pay the annual fee for “website address listing” and SEO services. The invoices also stated that consumers can get direct mass traffic through the SEO services with their proven search engine listing service. However, those who paid the invoices complaint that they do not get the results as stated there.

Beware of fake companies, there are lots of fake things going on lately.
