New ZealandMost probably you will see something new on the domain name very soon. Starting from  26 July 2010, 10am, people are allow to register a .nz domain names using the macronised vowels, that is ā, ē, ī, ō, and ū. The process of registering a .nz domain name with macrons is exactly the same way as registering any other .nz domain name, that is through a ‘registrar’ – and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Using these macrons make New Zealand Internet more culturally representative. This is the culmination of years of hard work at both local and international levels, and I would like to thank New Zealand’s IDN working group and .nz Registry Services for their valuable contributions.

This will sure make more people buy .NZ domains.
