Paris filed a claim for paris.tv and lost. Paris as a city and owner of paris.fr wanted this great domain. They want this domain since 2006. But WIPO don’t wish to give them that domain. Reason is that they cant get every domain that have paris word inside it. Even reason that this domain is used in bad faith didn’t make WIPO to transfer this domain to Paris.
My thinking is that Paris as a city have no value to WIPO as company. Paris is not Google nor Disney. But on other side, is there a trademark for word Paris. I think everyone on world know what you mean when you say Paris.
