Scam ArtThere is a fake domain registration service in Canada. They were frozen and fined by United States with suspended fine of more than $4.2 million. This Toronto-based Internet Listing Service was sending out fake invoices to related customers to request for payment for maintenance of their domain name registration, however, some claim that they received the invoices although they do not own the domain. Besides, personal or individual users, some small business companies also received the fake invoice to pay the annual website address listing for the services of search engine optimisation.

As stated in the invoices, this service can help to increase the “direct mass traffic” to websites. This fake promise included to 25 key words in addition to their payment; their websites would be submitted to a range of search engine services; and that they would receive quarterly search engine ranking reports. According to Federal Trade Commission’s complaint, thousand of users paid the services at ranging from at least $35.00 to $75.00 but do not see the result as promised. The defendants Isaac Benlolo, Kirk Mulveney, Pearl Keslassy, 1646153 Ontario Inc. and Steven Dale were served with a settlement order.

There are many scam sites offering SEO, and what they do is nothing.
