.CO domain extension already become an alternative to .com and reach milestone of 500,000 registrations. .CO is already internationally recognized by the global business community as an abbreviation for “Company,” “Corporation” and “Commerce” and start to be used by a lot of big companies such as Amazon, Apple, Google, Overstock “O.co” and Twitter “T.co”. Overstock spent $350,000 for its new O.co domain name early this year. Currently, .CO already have been used in over 60 countries as part of their current TLD, such as Angloa (co.ao), United Kingdom (.co.uk), Zimbabwe (.co.zw) etc and it is targeted to be used in 253 countries in he world very soon.
Total registrations of .CO reached 466,246. Compared to registration of .com, it already reached the number of 100,000,000 and it is essentially exhausted. A lot people are starting late during the .com registration and lost the chance to get some premium domain name. Now the new .CO registration becomes an opportunity for them to hunt for their desire domain name again. The war has begun.
Like i say before i didn’t buy any of .co domains, it is good for big companies, but for small i doubt it is.
